Lena Casilli, age 92, of Cornwall-on-Hudson passed away at home on December 1, 2010.
She worked as the former school monitor at Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School and was active as a member of the Cornwall Democratic Committee, St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson and a former Cub Scout Den mother.
Mrs. Casilli was married to Emil Casilli. She was born on July 10, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Cosimo Colandrea.
She is survived by her loving husband, Emil Casilli, at home; sons: Patrick Casilli and his wife Cathleen, of Montgomery, NY, Emil Casilli and his wife Cheryl, of Wallkill and Joseph Casilli of Wappinger Falls, NY; sister: Lucy Volognese, of Wallkill, NY; grandchildren: Sophia and Dominick Casilli and Katie Kenny; cousin: Fermina Orsini; and many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers: Rocco, Louis and Edward Colandrea and sisters: Rose Zuchowski and Mary Romano.
A family statement reads: “Mom was always loving and there for her family and friends. She lived her Christian faith. “
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm on Friday, December 3, 2010. at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520.
The funeral service will be a Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 AM Saturday. December 4 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church 340 Hudson St- Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520. Burial to follow the Mass in Calvary Cemetery- New Windsor NY
