Shirley M. Lewis of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 at Kaplan Family Hospice in Newburgh, NY.
Daughter of the late Roy and Alyce Moody Barrett, she was born on July 9, 1930 in Newburgh, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles H. Lewis, who passed away in 1996.
She was a NFA Graduate and earned her degree in Elementary Education at SUNY New Paltz. Lewis taught for 39 years and retired from the Washingtonville School District in 1991. She was member of several Teachers's Associations and St. George's Episcopal Church.
Survivors are her cousin, Brenda Armour Marino and husband, Joseph of New Windsor, Mark Marino and his wife, Teresa of Chester, Thomas Marino of Texas and Crystal Marino of New Jersey, and many special friends.
Visitation and the funeral service was held Monday, October 25, 2010 at Quigley Bros Funeral Home, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
