George N. Burger, of the village of South Blooming Grove, NY, passed away on September 26, 2010, at the Orange Regional Medical Center in Goshen, NY. He was 65 years old.
Burger was retired from the village of Cornwall water department. He was born on April 18, 1945, the son of E. Kenneth Burger and Jennie Williams Burger.
He is survived by his loving wife, Corrine Roos Burger, at home; son, George Jr., of Clovis, NM; daughter, Tabbatha Rose, of Hagerman, NM; two step-children, Corinne Lhotta, of Washingtonville and William Lhotta, of Golden, CO; a sister, Joanne Maher and her husband, Harry, of Winter Haven, FL; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one step-granddaughter.
Organizations: Storm King Eng. Co. # 2, in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY and Storm King Golf Club, in Cornwall, NY. He served his country proudly in the US Marines from 1962-1966 and also served as a volunteer for Meals On Wheels .
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, September 20, at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. ,Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520. A funeral service will be held at 7:45 pm on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the funeral home.
