Bill Nolan, of Cornwall, NY, passed away on August 1 after a long illness surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in New York City to Jack and Emma Nolan. Bill worked for JP Morgan Chase (formerly Morgan Guarantee) for many years as an elevator mechanic. He was a member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen, of 59 years, daughter, Kathleen, and her husband, Don Phillips, of New Windsor, NY, son Bill Nolan and wife, Kelly ,of Pine Island, NY, son John Nolan and wife Mary of Cornwall, NY, and daughter Joanne and husband, Bob McDermott, of Newburgh, NY. Bill was very proud of his 10 beautiful grandchildren – Jonathan, Meghan, Mary, Kaitlin, Billy, Daniel, Jill, Patrick, Joshua and Zachary.
He is also survived by his brothers Thomas and Edward Nolan and sister Anna Morgan and his many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Elant of Newburgh. The aides and nurses were like his second family. A special thanks to Doctor Franklin Guneratne of Walden, NY for the great care and support that he provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), Hawthorne, NY or Elant Nursing Home in Newburgh, NY.
Visitation will be held at the Quigley Bros Funeral Home , 337 Hudson St. in Cornwall –On-Hudson NY , on Thursday, August 5, 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Cornwall, NY on Friday, August 6 at 10am and burial services will follow at St. Thomas’s Cemetery, Cornwall, NY. To send condolence or Directions to the funeral you may go to www.quigleybros.com
