Charles V. McMorrow, 86, of Highland Mills, NY, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2010, at home.
The son of Hugh McMorrow and Nora Dolan McMorrow, he was born April 23, 1924.
Charles retired from the A & P Co. and was a doorman in New York, NY. He was married for 57 years to Mary Frances McGurn McMorrow. He was a former member of Leitrim Society and also a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include his wife, at home, Mary Frances McMorrow; son, Brendan McMorrow and his wife, Anne, of Dublin, Ireland; daughters: Colette Mulhall of Monroe, Deirdre McMorrow and husband, Mark, of Highland Mills, NY, Dympna Whetsel and husband, Bill, of Highland Mills, and Ursual Towle and her husband, Jimmy Monroe; brothers, Hugh McMorrow of Woodlawn NY and Denis McMorrow of Dublin, Ireland; sisters, Nora Wallace and Maureen Devlin, both of Florida, and Joan Hartigan; grandchildren: Mairead, Niall, Clare, Aine, Morgan, Sean, Kerry, Conor, Tyler, and Liam. He was predeceased by brother, John McMorrow and sister, Rose Starns.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall–on-Hudson, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 21, at St. Patricks Catholic Church, Highland Mills, NY. Burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
