Agnes M. Mumford, age 93, a long-time Cornwall resident, passed away on June 4, 2010 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.
She was the retired owner with her late husband Ward Mumford of Dairy Queen on South Robinson Ave. Newburgh, which they operated from 1952 to 1970.
Mrs. Mumford was born on June 15, 1916, in Michigan to Joseph Duda and Frances Malysz. She was predeceased by her husband, who passed away on September 5, 1990.
She is survived by her son, Warren G. Mumford and his wife, Mary Jean, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, brother Ben Duda of Michigan, sister Virginia Muller of Michigan, grandchildren: Lucas Mumford, Mary Ann Haines, Kathleen Cumber, Donna Haines Willians and Michael Haines, a son-in-law Rich
SURVIVORS: Son : Warren G. Mumford and his wife Mary Jean- Cornwall-On-Hudson NY; brother Ben Duda – Michigan; sister Virginia Muller- Michigan ; grandchildren: Lucas Mumford , Mary Ann Haines, Kathleen Cumber, Donna Haines Williams and Michael Haines and a son-in-law: Richard Haines, along with numerous great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Theresa Haines , four sisters, and a grandson, Timothy Mumford.
She was a member of the Polish Club of St. Petersburg, FL.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm on Monday, June 7, at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-on-Hudson NY 12520
Funeral service will be a 10 am mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church- Cornwall–on-Hudson NY . Burial to follow in Friends Cemetery- Cornwall NY
