Ellen M. Gilfillan of Goshen, NY, entered into rest on Monday, May 24, 2010 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Arden Hill Campus, Goshen, NY. She was 100.
A longtime resident of Cornwall, NY, she was the daughter of Ivor and Ellen Jones Morris. Ellen was born in Maenturog, Wales, on May 15, 1910 and was the oldest of thirteen children.
She was a volunteer at Nyack Hospital and also at Cornwall Hospital.
Survivors include her grandson, Richard Lawson; her granddaughter, Ellen Green and her husban,. Tom; great-grandchildren Stephanie and Alexandra; sisters Jeannie Vuotto and Margaret Hertzberg; son-in-law Harry Lawson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Thomas A. Gilfillan, daughter Annie Lawson, and grandson Hugh Lawson.
