Joseph Charles Moore
Joseph Charles Moore
January 11, 2010

Joseph Charles Moore, died suddenly on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Westchester Medical Center. He was 24 years old. He was known to his family as “Joey” and to his friends as “Blue”.

Born in Goshen, New York, on March 18, 1985, he is survived by his grieving parents, Charlie A. and Raelynn Engan Moore of Cornwall-on-Hudson. His siblings, Carlie Moore and Jimmy Moore, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, and Dana Moore and her companion, Kevin Plummer, of Montgomery, will forever feel the void he has left in their lives. Joey is also survived by nephews, Devin Moore and Dylan Moore, of Montgomery, paternal grandmother, Blanche Moore, of New Windsor, and maternal grandparents, Paula and Nick Cocomello of Venice, Florida. Countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends around the country loved him and will deeply mourn his passing.

Joey attended J.S. Burke Catholic High School in Goshen where he made many lifelong friends, and as an all-round athlete, played baseball, basketball, and soccer. As a senior, Joey transferred to Newburgh Free Academy where he graduated in 2003. As a youth, he could be found playing baseball at the New Windsor Little League, and later pitched for the Newburgh Nuclears. At present, Joey was a full-time student at Orange Community College pursuing a degree in mathematics and was employed by Polo in Woodbury Commons.

In his spare time, Joey, with his unforgettable steel blue eyes, enjoyed playing a round of golf or a hand or two of poker while hanging out with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Joey’s memory by doing a good deed.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Quigley Bros Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St, Cornwall-on- Hudson, NY. Mass will be at 10 am on Friday, January 15, 2010 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. For direction or to send condolences go to: www.quigleybros.com
