LOCAL LIBRARY PATRON TO SPEAK ON HIS EXPERIENCE AS A ‘BLUE MAN’
CORNWALL, NY – On Wednesday, August 26 at 6:30pm, Cornwall Public Library will present a discussion on Zoom with Mark Frankel, member of the internationally renowned performance piece Blue Man Group. Registration is required via the library’s online calendar. Zoom links will be sent to registrants the day of the event.
Mark began studying the drums at age eight; he was a radio engineer, who formed the mobile audio recording company Village Sound; and in 2005, he became a Blue Man. As a Blue Man, he has performed in theaters, arenas and stadiums on four continents for over one million people. Career highlights include: sold-out performances at the legendary Hollywood Bowl; performing live on Neil Patrick Harris’ Best Time Ever; appearing in an M&M’s commercial; and his first and last name included as an answer on Jeopardy! Mark also has been featured in numerous television, print and digital interviews, as well as web-based entertainment series and advertisements.
Mark is now a patron of the Cornwall Public Library and, when he is working, performs at Astor Place, as the Captain of the group. During this presentation, Mark will discuss his work as a trainer of newly cast Blue Men. Distilling this silent, enigmatic character down to simple, understandable acting tools is a unique and exciting challenge. The sharing of stories, techniques, experiences and an “ask me anything” openness are features of this talk.
