Betty Wright, a longtime resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson, entered into rest on Monday, December 7, 2009 at Elant of Newburgh. She was 85.
The daughter of the late David and Ruth Barr Wright she was born on June 2, 1924 in Fife, Scotland. She migrated with her parents to the United States at the age of seven.
Betty graduated from the Cornwall-on-Hudson High School and then went to work as an accountant for the New York Military Academy, where she worked for forty years in the Finance Dept.
Survivors include; cousins Margaret Faurot of Cornwall-on-Hudson, Mary Pessin and husband Ben of California, Ethel Glasgow of Long Island, cousins in Scotland and many second-cousins.
There will be no visitation. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 10:30 am at the Cornwall Baptist Church, Main St., Cornwall, NY.
Interment will follow in Willow Dell Cemetery, Cornwall-on-Hudson.
