Obituaries: Walter Wojehowski

Walter "Wally" Wojehowski, of Cornwall, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Cornwall Campus. He was 60.

A son of the late Walter Wojehowski and the late Josephine Blaine Wojehowski, he was born November 26, 1948 in Staten Island, NY. He was married to the late Nancy Wojehowski, who passed away on January 19, 2008.

Wally was retired from the U.S. Mint at U.S.M.A. in West Point & Washington, DC. He belonged to Highland Engine Co. #1 in Cornwall.

A family statement reads: "To always remember to say Thank you, I'm sorry, and I love you."

Survivors include his daughters: Laurie Foley & her husband, Brian of Cornwall-On-Hudson and Teri Ogden & her husband, Edward of New Windsor; brothers: Richard Wojehowski, Jerome Wojehowski, and Michael Wojehowski, all of Cornwall-On-Hudson, Thomas Wojehowski, Kenneth Wojehowski, Robert Wojehowski, all of Cornwall, Steven Wojehowski of Arden, and Danton Wojehowski of Bangor, ME; sisters: Joanne McGorman of Poughkeepsie, Peggy Bourne of New Windsor, Theresa Ricci of Cornwall, Beth Baranyai of Cornwall; grandchildren: Kinsley Foley, Emily & Eddie Ogden; many nieces & nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Wally is predeceased by a sister, Susan Wojehowski and a brother, Gary Wojehowski.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 6, at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, November 7, at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Cornwall-on-Hudson.
