Obituaries: Ellen (Sookey) Smith Hal

Ellen (Sookey) Smith Hall, daughter of the late George “Cal” Smith and Mary H. Smith, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 22, 2009. She was 77. She was also sister to the late Barbara S. Clark and aunt to the late Kathy Aileen Smith Clark O’Dell.
She was born in Cornwall, Firthecliffe (the Hollow), on January 20, 1932. She was a retired Central Accounting Officer from West Point, where she received a special appointment from Washington. Also she was a member of AARP and St. Thomas of Canterbury Church.
Ellen is survived by her spouse Russell Hall, Jr.; three daughters, Mary Frances Bruntfield, Susan Elizabeth Lyons and Kim Patricia Alexander; one son, Mark Edward Hall; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2009 from 10am - 1pm at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Avenue A, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 1pm at the funeral home following visitation.
