Beverly I. Wald, formerly of Cornwall on Hudson, N.Y., passed away peacefully at the Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford, N.Y., after a long battle with Alzheimers. She was 89 years old.
Beverly was born in Newburgh, N.Y. on July 7, 1919 to the late Henry Dass and Eleanor Ackley Dass.
Beverly married her late husband John J (Tink) Wald Sr. in 1939. He predeceased her in 1976. Beverly and John had traveled extensively due to his Military career. After John’s retirement she continued traveling with her friends and family. Her favorite destination was Paris. Whenever you asked her where she wanted to go she would always say Paris. She enjoyed photography and created many albums of her trips.
Beverly was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Hinman, and her husband, Richard, of Stamford, N.Y., her son, John J Wald Jr., and his wife, Marilyn, of Riga, MI, her brother, William Dass and his wife, Ann, of Fishkill, N.Y., her grandchildren Darin Hinman, of Maybrook, N.Y., Donald Zalesak, of Rosendale, N.Y., Kelly Carroll and her husband, Mike, of Pine Bush, N.Y., Wyatt Bird and significant other Amy, of Maybrook, N.Y., Christina Wald and her husband, Troy, of Cincinnati, OH, Hans Wald and his wife, Jody, of NY, NY, Jonathon Wald, of Cincinnati, OH, great-grandchildren Cody and Andrew Carroll, of Pine Bush, N.Y., Colleen Bird, of Maybrook, N.Y., Joshua Wald, of NY, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by: her husband John (Tink) Wald, and her daughter Jerrilyn Bird.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 PM on Sunday 3/22/2009 At Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall–On-Hudson NY 12520.
Funeral Services will be 10 AM Monday 3/23/2009 at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery- New Windsor, N.Y.
