Ethel E. Cronk, a lifelong area resident, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Cornwall Campus. She was 89.
Daughter of the late George Earl and Clara Hazard Earl, she was born in Highland Mills on April 27, 1919. She was the widow of James Gordon Cronk.
Ethel was a retired Accounting Clerk for Star Expansion in Mountainville, life member of the Highland Mills United Methodist Church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post #779 in the Town of Woodbury.
She is survived by her son, Earl Cronk and his wife, Carol of New Windsor; daughters, Judy Willis and her husband, Bob of Cornwall, Laurel Wentink and her husband, John of Central Valley; her special niece, Doris Russon; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 20, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 515 Route 32, Highland Mills, N.Y.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 21, at the Highland Mills United Methodist Church with The Rev. Kirtland Watkins and The Rev. Robert Milsom officiating. Interment will follow in Cemetery of the Highlands, Highland Mills, NY.
