Obituaries: Obituary: Maj. James D. Fordenbacher

December 31, 2008

Maj. James Douglas Fordenbacher, 84, of  New Windsor, N.Y., died on December 26, 2008 in St. Luke’s Cornwall hospital in Cornwall, N.Y.
 
Fordenbacher was a retired Major USAF 1968, serving in WWII, Korea & Viet Nam. He graduated as an aviation cadet, specializing in electronics & radar,  and graduated from Edinboro University, in Pa. Fordenbacher was a retired science teacher with Cornwall Central  School District.  He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in New Windsor, N.Y.
 
He was born on August 20, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of Arthur Fordenbacher and Elvira Steel Fordenbacher.   He was married to the late Mary Tarbutton Fordenbacher who passed on March 28, 2007.

SURVIVORS:  sons: Douglas Fordenbacher, of  New Windsor, N.Y., Stephen Fordenbacher and his wife, Sheryl,  of New Windsor, N.Y.,  daughter: Janet Velez and her husband, James, of York, Pa.,  grandchildren: Vincent &andNicholas Velez, Hannah and Leah Fordenbacher.  He was predeceased by a brother, John a. Fordenbacher.
 

VISTITATION:  Private  family visitation and service at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall –On-Hudson NY 12520       
 
Burial to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, N.Y.
