Virginia E. Zanin, 85, of Cornwall, N.Y., died on July 20, 2008 at home.
Mrs. Zanin was the wife of Anthony J. Zanin and a retired teacher in the Cornwall Central School District.
She was born on December 18, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of William Duffy and Irene Goulding Duffy.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony J. Zanin, at home; one son, John M. Zanin and his wife, Sharon, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y; daughters: Regina Zanin, of Greensboro, N.C., Lucille Nahow, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y.; two brothers: Raymond Duffy, of Island Park, N.Y., and Gerard Duffy, of Newark Valley, N.Y.; grandchildren: Melissa and Justin Nahow and Anthony and John Michael Zanin; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Joan Duffy .
Mrs. Zanin graduated from Oneonta College and received a Masters Degree from Syracuse University. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, a member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y., Catholic Daughters of America, Court Rita # 264, the New York State Teachers Association and the Homemakers Association.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson NY 12520
The funeral service will be a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Cornwall, N.Y.
