Maloney Announces 2020 Congressional Art Competition
Newburgh, NY — Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) invites Hudson Valley student artists to submit their artwork for the 2020 Congressional Art Competition. The deadline for submitting art to Rep. Maloney’s office is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2020.
“Our student artists in the Hudson Valley have incredible talent, and I always look forward to the Congressional Art Competition every year,” said Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney. “I hope every young artist in the area will consider sending in their work for this year’s competition, and can’t wait to see the winning artwork showcased in our Capitol.”
The winning piece will be chosen by a panel of local judges in the Hudson Valley. Additionally, all pieces submitted will be showcased on Rep. Maloney’s Facebook page from April 26 – May 1, 2020.
The winning candidate will be announced at an awards ceremony in the Hudson Valley this spring, followed by an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. in June. The piece with the most “likes” on Rep. Maloney’s Facebook page (facebook.com/repseanmaloney) will be crowned the “Fan Favorite”. Additional information can be found on Rep. Maloney’s website.
All submissions must be framed, and a Student Information and Release Form should be returned to Rep. Maloney’s Newburgh office located at 123 Grand Street in Newburgh, NY. Each student is limited to submitting three works of art. The competition is open to high school students, but exceptions may be made for schools that have grades 7th through 12th on one campus.
All entries must be submitted by Friday, April 24, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. For additional questions, contact Paige Banfield at [email protected].
