Mark M. Ward, 31 of Highland Mills, N.Y., died on June 20, 2008 as a result of an auto accident in Wallkill.
Ward was a Deputy Sheriff with the Orange County Corrections Department where he was employed for eight years and was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving from 1996-2000.
He was born on December 11, 1976, in Goshen, N.Y., the son of James Ward and Ellen Rush Ward.
He is survived by his former wife, Danielle Vandermast; his parents, James and Ellen Rush Ward, of Highland Mills; brothers James Ward, of Cornwall, and Christopher Ward, of Fulton, N.Y.; sisters Dina Sweeney, of Cornwall-on-Hudson and Jennifer Potter, of Cornwall; sisters-in-law Amanda Ward and Martha Ward; brothers-in-law, Daniel Sweeney and Scott Potter; nieces Katelyn, Maris, Allison, Jacynda and Ashlyn; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2008 and Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y. 12520
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Highland Mills, N.Y. Cremation: will follow in Cedar Hill – Newburgh N.Y.
