Monday, May 26
12:15 a.m. Police respond to a report of an unoccupied vehicle in the middle of Orrs Mills Road and are unable to locate it. A follow-up call to police indicated that the vehicle had rolled out of a driveway and the owner had retrieved it.
7:15 a.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 32.
9:30 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Little League Drive.
4:18 p.m. Police respond to the area of CVS for a report of a patient who had escaped the mental health unit. The subject was picked up and brought back to the ER with no problem.
6:23 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 23-year-old male from Highland Mills on Angola Road.
8:55 p.m. Police issue three tickets to an 18-year-old male from Cornwall who was driving through the Town Hall parking lot at a high rate of speed while people were walking through the lot.
Tuesday, May 27
1:03 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 52-year-old male from Newburgh on Route 94.
3:03 a.m. Police respond to a report of juveniles involved in possible criminal mischief on Mill Street and speak with three males who were outside a vehicle. One of the males was changing the passenger side front tire. The driver of the vehicle said that he was traveling east on Quaker Avenue when made a left turn onto Mill Street and he was distracted talking to other passengers and ran off the road, striking an embankment and damaging the tire.
11:27 a.m. Police respond to a report of an abandoned vehicle with no plates on Mineral Springs Road. Police trace the vehicle back to its owner and attempt unsuccessfully to contact him.
11:33 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 28-year-old male from West Grove on Route 94.
3:43 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street.
4:56 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to an 18-year-old male from Cornwall on Route 218.
5:10 p.m. Police respond to a report of an abandoned vehicle on Alder Drive.
5:39 p.m. Police take a report of cell phone that was broken in an altercation between two youths at Town Park. The two youths had been involved in an altercation earlier in the day at school and met at the park to work out the problem. When one youth attempted to call the police, the other grabbed the phone and broke it. The parents, after being contacted, agree to replace the phone that was broken.
5:52 p.m. Police respond to a report of small scratches on the picnic table in Town Park and advise the juveniles there to leave the area.
6:54 p.m. Police respond to a reported dispute between two drivers that occurred when one of them burned rubber in front of the other’s house. The second subject pursued the first and when they both stopped, the second man began a verbal argument and grabbed the first man by the neck and spat on him. Police advise the second party not to have any further contact with the first man.
Wednesday, May 28
6:11 a.m. Police return a stray dog to its owner.
11:24 a.m. Police issue tickets for driving an unregistered, uninsured moped on Route 9W to a 23-year-old male from Norwalk, Ct.
12:50 p.m. Police investigate a report of exterior lights broken outside of the Applied Systems building on Route 9W.
1:23 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Mineral Springs Road.
3:53 p.m. Police respond to a minor hit-and-run accident involving a parked car on Highland Avenue.
5:00 p.m. Police respond to assist COVAC with an intoxicated male subject at Cumberland Farms on Route 94.
7:32 p.m. Police issue a ticket to a 29-year-old male from Monroe for talking on a cell phone while driving on Route 32.
7:51 p.m. Police issue a ticket to a 24-year-old female from New Windsor for talking on a cell phone while driving on Route 32.
Thursday, May 29
6:39 a.m. Police assist a small deer to escape from a fenced in backyard. Animal left to a wooded area.
12:32-3:55 p.m. Police issue 34 traffic tickets to drivers on Route 9W.
Friday, May 30
1:12 a.m. Police respond to the Route 218 high point along with the Cornwall fire department for a brush fire that the fire department extinguishes.
10:20 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 29-year-old female from Monroe on Jackson Avenue.
10:37 a.m. Police issue a parking ticket to a vehicle at the train station.
11:08 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 19-year-old male from New Rochelle on Route 9W.
1:11 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 52-year-old male from Newburgh on Route 9W.
5:51 p.m. Police issue two tickets – one for an unlicensed driver and one for an inadequate muffler to a 23-year-old male from Spring Valley.
10:40 p.m. Police investigate a report harassment at Cornwall hospital.
11:40 p.m. Police respond to a complaint of a loud party at Town Hall park and about 20 juveniles ran off when police arrive. Police compiled a list of names of several of those who had not left the premises and strongly advise them.
Saturday, May 31
12:16 a.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Mineral Springs Road.
7:19 a.m. Police issue a ticket to a 23-year-old male from Newburgh for driving without a valid license and impound his car.
9:54 a.m. Police respond to Route 9W near the Cadet Motel for a report of a male subject down. The complainant joined police and identified a man, know standing, who said that he had been on the ground and was meditating.
10:13 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 53-year-old female from New Windsor on Jackson Avenue.
11:32 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 44-year-old male from New York City on Route 9W.
3:10 – 4:13 p.m. Police issue four traffic tickets for failure to stop at a stop sign at Shore and Ash Drives.
3:11 p.m. Police respond to Cornwall hospital to assist with a mental health patient.
5:14 p.m. Police issue a ticket for speeding on Route 32 to a 43-year-old male from Cornwall.
5:33 p.m. Police respond to Cornwall hospital for a report of a patient who had escaped on foot. Negative results in search.
8:04 p.m. Police investigate a report of a purse that had been stolen from a car parked at Bethlehem Church. The vehicle’s front driver’s side window had also been shattered. Police also investigate a second report of larceny from a car parked at the church.
9:20-9:50 p.m. Police issue three tickets for vehicle and traffic violations on Route 94, Orrs Mills Road and Route 32.
Sunday, June 1
10:57 a.m. Police issue a ticket for traffic violation on Route 32 to a 58-year-old male from New York City.
12:31 p.m. Police investigate a report of a subject receiving harassing text messages.
2:34 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 55-year-old female from Highland Mills on Route 32.
4:36 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 29-year-old female from Cornwall on Route 94.
4:43 p.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 58 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 94 to a 37-year-old male from Clifton.
5:14 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 21-year-old male from Newburgh on Route 9W.
6:12 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 48-year-old female from Washingtonville for driving 57 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 94.
7:28 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Academy Avenue to a 54-year-old female from Brooklyn.
8:52 p.m. Police issue a ticket for speeding on Quaker Avenue and one for driving without license to a 29-year-old male from Stroudsburgh and impound his vehicle.
