Walter T. Koch, age 89, of Cornwall, N.Y. died on April 9, 2008, at the Putnam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Holmes, N.Y.
Koch was the spouse of the late Elizabeth (Betty) Thornton Koch and was a retired life insurance agent with John Hancock Insurance .
He was born on June 26, 1918, in the Bronx, N.Y., the son of Theodore Koch and Emelia Kest Koch.
He is survived by one son, Alan Koch and his wife, Mary, of Prospect, Ct., a sister, Judy Trongone and her husband, Joseph, of Cortlandt Manor, N.Y, grandchildren Lisa Baccari, Peter Mutino, Allison O’Sullivan, Alan Koch, Kyle Koch & Kenneth Koch and one great-grandchild, Samantha Baccari
Walter Koch was a member of Boys Scouts of America for 49 years, served as a Unit Commissioner, Veteran of Foreign Wars, American Legion and was a life member of Black Rock Fish & Game Club of Mountainville, N.Y.
There will be no public visitation. A funeral service will be an 11 a.m. service at the Cornwall United Methodist church at 196 Main St, Cornwall, N.Y. on Saturday, April 26, 2008. Burial will be private in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, N.Y.
