Mary T. Chain, age 74, of North Port, Fl., formerly of Cornwall and Woodbourne, N.Y., died on April 8, 2008 in Montgomery, N.Y.
 
Mrs. Chain was the wife of the late Anthony Chain.  She retired from Star Expansion and from Sears & Roebuck as credit Manager in Middletown, N.Y.

Mary Chain was born on April 10, 1933, in the Bronx, N.Y., the daughter of Edward Polkowski and Rose Mary Kronenberger.

She is survived by her son, Anthony Chain, daughters Kathy C . Burch and her husband, Gene, Laura Chain–Wiest and her husband, Edward, Lynne Belsito & husband Ralph, and her best friend, Trucker Chain.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Stephanie Raffa, Jillian Baboff, Jonathan Croyle, Patty Belsito, Michelle Belsito, Christopher Burch, Jon Burch, Jennifer Chain, Stacey Chain, Steven Jones and Heather Jones and her great-grandchildren Joshua and Mitchell Baboff, Nicholas and Matthew Sutcliffe, Isabella Raffa, Charles and Devon Chain, Aidan and Adrianna Chain, Katherine Jones, Kyle Jones, Ian and Emily Jones, Fox and Jared Burch and by her brothers Edward Polkowski  and his wife, Joan,  and Richard Polkowski and several nieces and nephews.       

Mary was a life-long member of the ladies Auxiliary Cornwall Fire Department and loved to spend her summers at her camper at Neversink Campground.  

Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 11, at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street,  Cornwall-On-Hudson.  The funeral service will be a 11 am Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 12 at St. Thomas of Canterbury church in Cornwall-on-Hudson.  Burial to follow in St. Thomas Cemetery,
