Obituaries: Obituary: Jeanne E. Adams

Jeanne E. Adams, age 85, of Cornwall, N.Y., died on March 25, 2008 at St. Lukes Cornwall hospital in Newburgh, N.Y.

Mrs. Adams was the widow of the late Connie Adams, who passed away on June 14, 1969. She was a homemaker and retired from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.  Mrs. Adams was also a member of the Cornwall United Methodist Church, where she was the recorder of Records, and she served as a volunteer with the Cornwall Hospital Auxiliary.

She was born on October 21, 1922, in Pottstown, PA., the daughter of Raymond Elliott and Edith Snell Elliott.

She is survived by her sons: Daniel Adams and his wife, Teri, of Port Townsend, WA., John L. Adams and his wife, Patricia, of Cornwall, N.Y. and Thomas Adams and his wife, Susan, of Overland Park, KS.; three grandchildren: Mark Adams, Michelle Ortiz and Tyler Adams; and great-grandchildren: Janissa and James McKoy.

She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Elliott, and sisters Thelma Brower and Florence Mauger Bass.

Jeanne was an avid bridge player and loved the Yankees and Giants.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 30 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwll-on-Hudson.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, March 31, 2008, at the Cornwall United Methodist Church, 196 Main St., Cornwall, N.Y. Burial will follow in USMA at the West Point Cemetery.
