John (Jake ) Pryne, 93, a life-long resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y., died on March 15, 2008 at Catskill Regional Hospital in Harris, N.Y.
Pryne was pre-deceased by his wife, Sadie DiDio Pryne. Pryne was a retired bus driver for the Army Athletic Association with USMA West Point for 27 years. He was a life member of Highland Engine Co. #1, of Cornwall, N.Y., and a past Master of Jerusalem Temple F & A Masons #721, of Cornwall, N.Y.
He was born on November 27, 1914, in Cornwall, N.Y., the son of Cornelius Pryne and Stella Wilson Pryne.
He is survived by two daughters, Jacquelyn Conklin and her husband, Frederick D. Conklin Sr., of Middletown, N.Y., and Linda McDermott and her husband, Roger, of Equinonck, PA., two sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, 3/17/2008, at QUIGLEY BROS. FUNERAL HOME , 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson NY 12520.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10 AM on Tuesday 3/18/2008 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Russell.
Burial will follow the service in Willow Dell Cemetery in Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y.
