Obituaries: Obituary: Nathalie Brewster DeKay

Nathalie Brewster DeKay went home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2008, at the age of 75. She was the daughter of the late Henry Brewster and Nathalie Bull Ford, born on Dec. 9, 1932 at the Cornwall Hospital.

A graduate of Cornwall High School, class of 1951,  Nat  was a born-again Christian and shared  her love of Christ as a member of the Auxiliary of the Gideons  International and was affectionately know as the “Bible lady,”  placing many thousands of testaments into willing hands.  

Nathalie is survived by her husband, Richard, of 53 years, her son, Richard Brewster DeKay, and daughter, Yvonne Fletcher, with her husband, Douglas, and grandchildren Lauren & James Fletcher. Nathalie was predeceased by her son, Russell Craig DeKay.

Nathalie was a longtime member of the Mid-Hudson Tres Dias Community.  Nat was a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendents, being the 12th generation descended from Elder William Brewster.  She is also a member of the Goodwill Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers donations in Nathalie memory may be made to: The Gideons Int’l , Mid –Hudson Camp, POB 655, Walden, N.Y. 12586 ,  Goodwill Church Building Fund, 2117 Rte- 208, Montgomery, N.Y. 12549  or Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corps, POB 151, Cornwall, N.Y. 12518.  

Visitation will be Friday on 3/7/2008 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.  at Quigley Bros Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St, Cornwall-On-Hudson NY 12520   

A  10 AM Service will be on Saturday, 3/8/2008, at Goodwill Evangelical Church, Rte 208, Montgomery,  N.Y.  Burial will follow the service in Woodlawn Cemetery in New Windsor, NY.
