Obituaries: Obituary: Connie M. Shawver

Connie M. Shawver, 65, passed away Monday, December 24, 2007 at her home with her family by her side.

Connie was a native of Rhinebeck and a resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson since 1974. She began working for IBM in 1966 and retired after 30 years as a programming technician. She was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club.

She was a graduate of Rhinebeck Central Schools and received an Associate's Degree in business management.

Born September 7, 1942 in Rhinebeck, she was the daughter of the late William Walberg and Edna (Heuchel) Mattison.

Connie is survived by her husband Dale Shawver of Cornwall-on-Hudson; a son David "Chip" Van Wagner Jr., and his wife Jennifer of Newburgh; a daughter Annette G. Boyle of Walden, NY; five grandchildren Kara, Megan and James Boyle and Christopher and Erika Van Wagner; one great-grandson Dilan Greene; her mother Edna Mattison; four sisters Shirley Wilkins, Carol Schloemer, April Mansfield and Jackie Denu; a brother Charles Cole; her step-mother Shirley Walberg; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Judy Alberg; a brother William Walberg; a nephew John Alberg; and her stepfather Howard Mattison.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
