Arrests
05/26/23 On Friday, May 26, 2023, at approximately 11:00pm, the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department arrested, Madelene Aponte, age 52, of New Windsor, N.Y., and was charged with DWI, Above .08% BAC, Unsafe Lane Change.
Ms. Aponte was booked, processed and released on applicable traffic summonses with a return court date of June 24, 2023, at 3pm.
Incidents
Police issue 2 tickets and 2 warning to drivers.
05/16/23 Police dispatched to small fire on CSX tracks near DPW building.
05/17/23 A resident from Maple Ave. complained that a neighbor was throwing garbage onto his property including ice cream containers, McDonald’s McFlurry cups and cracker boxes. The neighbor stated that the bears and raccoons are getting into the garbage cans. The resident disagreed that it was bears and raccoons.
05/17/23 Neighbors on Idlewild Park Dr have a dispute about driving too fast on the road.
05/18/23 Police and NW EMS respond to a vehicle accident on Mountain Rd with injuries.
05/18/23 A woman’s phone fell off of her car on Payson Rd. She located it to a residence near Cherry Ave.
05/20/23 Police take a report of tree down on Spruce st.
05/21/23 Police and Central Hudson respond for wires down on Duncan Ave.
05/21/23 Police respond to Mountain Rd for a report of an altercation with an Uber Eats driver.
05/30/23 Police respond to Rt 9W South for a disabled vehicle.
05/31/23 Police respond to Rock wall pub for a parking complaint and customers told to move their vehicles.
06/02/23 Police respond to a report of a gas odor on Ave B coming from a generator outside of a residence.
06/06/23 Rocks coming from a CSX Hydro vac truck damaged a vehicles windshield.
06/07/23 A tow was requested for a black silverado pick-up left on church property for days. Church advised to make arrangements for a tow.
06/08/23 A caller reported fraud. A visa card was opened in her name.
06/08/23 Police respond to complaints of bears being outdoors on private property.
06/09/23 A caller reported that vehicles were parked close to the CSX tracks. The vehicles belong to CSX employees.
06/11/23 A caller complained that a neighbor was blowing garbage onto his property on River Ave.
06/11/23 A caller reported a telephone pole on Second St. that was leaning towards the street.
06/11/23 Police and NW EMS respond to Bayview Ave for a motorcycle accident with injuries.
