Arrests
On Monday, October 18, 2021, at approximately 10:35pm, the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson arrested, Joel M. McConkey,age 43, of Cornwall, N.Y., and was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Refusing a Chemical Breath/ Blood Test and Unreasonable Speed. Mr. McConkey was booked, processed and released on applicable traffic summonses with a return court date of Wednesday, November 03, 2021, at 4pm.
Incidents
Police issue approximately 10 warnings and 8 summonses to drivers.
10/05/21 Storm King School found a wallet belonging to a delivery driver. Wallet returned by Police.
10/08/21 Storm King Fire Dept assist a caller retrieve a bag that the caller threw into a tree.
10/10/21 Police assist Town Police with a serious vehicle accident.
10/11/21 Police assist a disabled tractor trailer on rt 9W.
10/12/21 Police assist with snake removal at Grandview apartments.
10/15/21 Police take a report of criminal mischief after a resident notices his neighbor’s mailbox was damaged and had tire tracks nearby the property.
10/15/21 Police respond to a 2 vehicle accident with no injuries.
10/15/21 Police and COVAC respond to Curie Rd for a vehicle accident with injuries and assist the driver in escaping his vehicle which caught on fire.
10/17/21 Police respond to a residence on Academy Ave for a complaint of a garbage picker.
10/18/21 Police find a black wallet containing cash and a flyer and enter it into evidence/property locker.
10/21/21 A caller reported finding a dog wandering on Shore Rd. The dog was injured with bite marks possibly from dog fighting and was hungry and thirsty. The dog was transported to the SPCA.
10/22/21 Police respond to Shore Rd for a 2 car MVA .
10/26/21 Police respond to Rt 9W for a 1 car accident no injuries.
10/30/21 Police assist Town Police on Rt 9W with a 1 car accident no injuries.
