VICTOR J. ZAJKOWSKI
September 22, 1945 – August 23, 2021
Newburgh, NY formerly of Cornwall, NY
Vic Zajkowski, of Cornwall entered into eternal rest on August 23, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh. He was 75 years old.
The son of Zigmund Zajkowski and Victoria Kosloski, Vic was born on September 22, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from Aviation High School in Long Island City and after returning from his service in the US Navy, he was dedicated to his job as Chief Lineman for Con Edison. He worked with them for 30 years.
Vic honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy. He was proud to tell others of the time he served as a Quartermaster on the Richard E. Byrd. He made many lifelong friends through his time at sea.
A family statement reads: “We are deeply saddened at the loss of Vic. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to so many that loved him! His unwavering support of his loved ones was a hallmark of who he was as a person. His legacy will be left in the laughs and smiles he gave us every day. We truly believe that he would not want us to be sad, but to think of him every time we tell a joke, eat something sweet or make someone’s day.” He will be missed greatly by everyone who got the chance to know him.
Vic is survived by his wife: Susan; his daughters: Lori (Tim) and Lisa (Jim); his grandchildren: Victoria, Alexandria and Sydney. He’s also survived by his sister: Theresa; as well as countless nieces, nephews and friends. Vic was predeceased by his Mother, Father and his sister Mary.
