Arrests
06/20/20 Matthew D Muccia, age 30, of Cornwall, NY was arrested on a fugitive from justice charge.
Incidents
06/08/20 A complainant asked Police for help with a landlord dispute. The Police advised the complainant that she had a recourse in the courts if the landlord does not go about the eviction in a proper manner.
06/08/20 Police respond to Rt 218 for a report of a large rock on the road.
06/09/20 Police respond to Manor Drive for a complaint of gas odor.
06/10/20 A caller reported a suspicious box near the woods with a bad odor emitting from it.
06/10/20 A caller reported a small black bear in her yard on Roe Ave.
06/10/20 A caller reported a bear cub on her front lawn climbing a tree on McCann’s Ln.
06/12/20 Police assist lost hikers near Rt 218.
06/13/20 Police take a report of a disorderly adult. A man went into Dunkin without a mask and when he was refused service he kicked over a display.
06/13/20 Police respond to a business on Main st and observe several people sitting at a bar and not practicing social distancing, the business and people were advised.
06/13/20 Police respond to Breeze Hill Rd for a complaint of fireworks and advise parties involved and gave notice.
06/14/20 Police take a report of larceny from a business, Two cases of beer were stolen from Cumberland on rt 94.
06/17/20 A caller reported that someone was jumping off of the train trestle using a parachute.
06/18/20 Police assist COH Police with a car vs bicycle involving a child with minor injuries and a call about a subject shooting out a car window with a bb gun.
06/21/20 A caller reported that a man was laying on grand St. COVAC and Police responded, the man was having a diabetic emergency.
06/24/20 Police take a report of fraud. The victim stated that he saw an ad for assistance on an Apple account, called the number and the people on the phone told him to buy $200 in gift cards and give them the number. Afterwards the complainant realized that he had been scammed of $200.
06/24/20 Police respond to a home on Waterview Terrace in New Windsor for a noise complaint. The subjects were renting it as an airbnb and had 8 adults total renting the house but approximately 125 people were observed having a party around the pool. The person that rented the home did not inform the owner that she was having a house party and invited 300 people to the residence. Police advised guests to leave and passed on information to code enforcement.
06/24/20 Police and Fire Dept respond to Laurel Crest for a report of fireworks and a garbage can which caught on fire.
06/25/20 A caller reported a bear was crossing the street on Orrs Mills Rd.
06/25/20 Police assist COH Police with a vehicle rollover on River Ave.
06/25/20 Police receive a report of teens sending up fire balloons.
06/25/20 A fire balloon came down by some lilac bushes and was extinguished.
06/27/20 Police take a report of illegal dumping on Deer Hill Rd. The complainant will set up video surveillance.
06/27/20 Police respond to a home on Waterview Terrace for a noise complaint. Subject had 30-40 guests at the property for a party.
06/28/20 Hikers found a loose dog on Storm King Mountain and turn over to the Police.
