General News: Deadly Car Crash on Rt. 9W

A driver of a car was traveling on Route 9W southbound near the overlook in the Town of Cornwall early about 12:38am Wednesday morning when their vehicle ran off the road, struck a tree and burst into flames.
When Police arrived, the vehicle was engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished by the Cornwall Fire Department and the driver was found dead in the driver’s seat.
Police Chief Hazard said preliminary investigation shows the car went off the road, crashed into a tree and burst into flames.
The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of relatives.
