James F. Reilly, of Cornwall, NY and Seminole, FL, formally of Hopewell Junction, NY, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2017 at Montgomery Nursing Home with his family at his side.
Red was a Plumber by trade, working at General Motors in Tarrytown, NY before retiring. He was a hard working husband and father, who always had our best interests at heart. He rarely complained about anything, except maybe the horses. He was a member of the AOH – Division 2, Cornwall, NY and enjoyed all things Irish, especially his Guinness. The family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at Montgomery Nursing Home for all of their care and time spent with Mr. Reilly.
Red was predeceased by his parents, James and Anne Reilly. He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Barbara; two daughters, Karen and fiancée’ Michael Scanlon and MaryEllen; one granddaughter, Jade; as well as several nieces and nephews; his sister-in-law’s, Caroline Reilly and Catherine Rose and husband Steve. In addition to his parents, Red was predeceased by his brother, Francis Reilly, M.D.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 28th at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory. Interment of cremains will take place at Orange County Veteran’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
