Obituaries: Robert G. Tarantino

Robert G. Tarantino, of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on December 10, 2016 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Cornwall, NY. He was 68 years old.
The son of the late George and Gertrude Maki Tarantino, Bob was born on February 21, 1948 in Manhattan, NY.
Bob was a Certified Public Accountant with the firm of Bencivenga Ward & Company CPAs, PC in Valhalla, NY.
A family statement reads: “Bob had a love for music and a passion for good food and wine. He was a NY man through and through always rooting for the home team, especially his favorite, the NY Knicks. He loved spending time with his family and taking trips to the Adirondacks when he was able to. His sense of humor will leave a lasting impression on all who knew him especially all of his Sherlock and Shirley’s. He was extremely proud of his full head of black hair but not as proud as he was of his grandson Jullian. He will be missed greatly.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, KarenMarie E. Humphrey Tarantino, at home; his son, Michael D. Tarantino of Astoria, NY; his daughter, Danielle E. Tarantino Grecula and her husband, Tom, of Astoria, NY; his grandson, Jullian Grecula; his brother, George Tarantino of Bronx, NY; his cousins, John and Rosemary, Richard and Linda, Patricia and Michael, and Loretta; his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his cousin, Margaret “Peggy” Leonforti.
Visitation will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 9 p.m. on Thursday, December 15th at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 16th at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY.
Memorial Contributions in Bob’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 121 Executive Dr #200, New Windsor, NY 12553.
