Gladys G. Shearer of Cornwall, NY, passed away on November 16, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was 87 years old.
The daughter of the late Leonard and Shirley Gorton, she was born on April 9, 1929 in Liberty, NY.
Gladys graduated from Cornwall High School and was a retired data processor at Cornwall Hospital. She was a member of the Cornwall Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society and the Cornwall Homemakers. She loved to knit, crochet and spend time with her friends. Gladys was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be missed by so many.
Gladys is survived by her daughter Susan Blaine (Donald) of Cornwall, son Glenn Shearer (Chona) of Wallkill, daughter Lynn Rice (David) of Hutschenhausen, Germany, and daughter-in-law Melanie Shearer of Newburgh; grandchildren: David Blaine (Jennifer), Eric Shearer and Emily Berchild (Bobby) ; great grandchild Beau Berchild; sisters: Georgina Lark (William), and Myrtle Bernarbo (Paul); and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Shearer, her son Stephen Shearer and her sister Marie Woods.
The family would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Tee for all her loving care and affection for Gladys over the past two years. She will always be a part of our family.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 pm on Sunday, November 20, at James F. Lulves Funeral Home , 9 Avenue A, Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, November 21, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
