James A. Ward, of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY entered into eternal rest on September 2, 2016 at his home. He was 83 years of age.
The son of the late Michael and Nora (nee Trayers) Ward, James was born on April 26, 1933 in Turla, Ballymoe, Castlerea, County Roscommon, Ireland.
James was a retired Security Officer for Cushman & Wakefield in New York City.
A family statement reads: “Jim was a wonderfully kind and loving man, a gentleman in the true sense of the word. Our hearts are broken with our loss. He will be missed greatly by so many.”
James is survived by his loving wife, Mary J. Ward (nee Coneran); his son, James C. Ward; his daughters, Brenda Mannion and Lori Ward; his daughter-in-law Pam Ward, sons-in-law Vincent Mannion and Michael O’Keefe, his seven grandchildren, Shane, Sinead, Kelly, Gavin, Tara, Dylan and Ryan; his sisters, Della Loftus, Nonie Gamble and Maura Queenan; as well as his many nephews and nieces. James was predeceased by his brothers, Thomas, Michael and Patrick.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 5th Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6th at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Thomas Cemetery, Cornwall, NY.
