Obituaries: William Arch Lee

William Arch Lee, of Cornwall, NY died unexpectedly on May 21, 2016 in Harris, NY. He was 74 years old.

The son of the late William Lee and Marion E. Dunlap Lee, Bill was born on February 27, 1942 in Cornwall, NY.

Bill was a retired Fire Investigator for West Point Fire Dept.; he was currently employed as a Code Enforcer for the Town of Cornwall, NY, previously Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY and also sits on the Town of Cornwall Zoning Board. Bill was the Past Chief of the Cornwall Fire Dept., Commissioner of Canterbury Fire Dept., Director of Region 10 Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York, retired active member of International Association of Firefighters Local F-7, served as Orange County Fire Inspector #36-104, and served on the Orange County Arson Task Force. Bill was a member of NY State Association of Fire Chiefs, Elks-Newburgh #247, Fire Chiefs of Orange County, International Association of Fire Investigators, Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman’s Association, New York State Building Officials, Past President of Orange County Association of Fire Districts, and Black Rock Fish & Game Club. Bill was a devoted NY Yankee, NY Giants and NY Rangers fan, as well as an avid Renegades Baseball team fan. He loved working in his garden, hunting and fishing, camping and vacationing in Mexico.

Bill is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 53 years, Cheryl Melito Lee, at home; his daughter, Donna D’Amico Zodikoff and her husband Neil of Middletown, NY; his son, William (Mickey) Lee and his wife, Kim, of Highland Falls, NY; his grandchildren, William and his wife Rachel, and Justin; his great granddaughter, who he loved to the moon and back, Evelyn; his brother, Robert and his wife Jeniene ; as well as several nieces, nephews and their children and cousins. Bill was pre-deceased by his son-in-law, Stephen D’Amico and his Aunt Anna MacMorran.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 PM on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson NY. A Funeral Service and Firematic Service will be held at 8:45 PM at the funeral home.
