Obituaries: Charlotte A. Zayas

Charlotte A. Zayas, of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on November 24, 2015 at Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center, Campbell Hall, NY. She was 88 years old.

The daughter of the late William Dearnley and Hilda McAllister Dearnley, Charlotte was born on December 4, 1926 in Newburgh, NY. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Alexander C. Zayas and her son Christian Zayas. Charlotte was the Owner/Operator of “The Jennifer Shop” in Cornwall, NY and was very happy to meet, talk and do business with all who came in.

She was a member of the Moulton Baptist Church, Newburgh, NY for her entire life.

She will be missed greatly by her family and friends. Charlotte loved and enjoyed her Grandchildren Gary, Jennifer, Laurie and Alison and Great Grandchildren Christian and Avery as well as several Step-Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.

Charlotte's family would like to thank Dr. Eugene Schreiner for his many years of professional, caring and compassionate care. We would also like to thank the many professional, caring workers at The Cornwall Hospital and more recently at the Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center. Many thanks to her friend Fran Fasano of New Windsor, NY.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at Moulton Memorial Baptist Church 54 Old Little Brittan Road on Monday December 7th at 11AM followed by a reception. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Charlotte's name to New Windsor Country Inn at 458 Temple Hill Road New Windsor, NY 12553 to help continue the great caring work they do for the individuals and their families. There will be no visitation.

Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Mount Hope, NY. Charlotte and her beloved husband, Alexander will be laid to rest together at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
