Obituaries: Herbert A. Trubenbach

Herbert A. Trubenbach, "Herbie" of the Town of Newburgh, NY, entered into eternal rest on November 27, 2015 at The Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh, NY. He was 61 years old.

The son of the late Harry E. Trubenbach. and Amelia Ropke Trubenbach Smith, Herbert was born on April 28, 1954 in Middletown, NY. Herbert was a retired auto body and paint salesperson and courier. He was an active member of the Cornwall United Methodist Church and a Patient Mentor at Helen Hayes Hospital.

Herb was a devoted husband and father and a lifelong resident of the Town of Newburgh, NY. Herb was loved by all who were touched by his witty sense of humor, smile and generous kind spirit. Herbie was a helper to all and an encourager who always put the needs of others above his own. Herbies' love of God and his faith were strong. He was always courageous and supportive as well as resourceful. His interests included Travel, History of the Hudson Valley, Nautical Salvage, Electronics, NY Rangers, NY Yankees and most recently National Parks and Railroad Systems. Treasured times with family and friends were his favorite pastime.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence as well as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for a special kind of care and love in the past few months. In lieu of flowers designated memorial donations are; Cornwall United Methodist Church, Grace United Methodist Church, Cape Coral, FL, Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh NY, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center , NYC.

Herbert is survived by his wife, Lynn N. Cunningham; daughter, Kaitlyn A. Maldonado and her husband, Vincent; a brother, Edward H. Trubenbach and a sister, Ruth A. Stenglein; nieces, Nancy Stenglein and Denise Trubenbach and Nephews, Edward Stenglein and his wife Kim, and Edward Trubenbach, as well as several great nieces and great nephews.

There will be no visitation. Cremation to take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY. A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM on Sat. 19 December at the Cornwall United Methodist Church, 198 Main St., Cornwall, NY 12518. Rev. Julia Winward will officiate.

Interment of cremains will be in Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden NY at a later date. Arrangements are by Richard J. Sullivan and Kevin Quigley of Quigley Bros. Funeral Home; to send condolences, please go to www.Quigleybros.com.
