Bernice Remfrey, age 90, of Cornwall New York, died on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at Wingate Nursing Home in Beacon, NY.
The daughter of Claude and Anna (Hagert) Baird, Bernice was born on August 25, 1925 in Monroe, NY.
She worked for St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh before retiring. She was also a member of Cornwall United Methodist Church. She married Curtis Remfrey in July, 1944 in New York City, NY.
Bernice is survived by her daughter, Helene Tedder of Florence, SC, and son-in-law Russell Cullingham of Newburgh, NY. She was the proud Grandmother of 6 grandchildren: Heather (Mark) Joyce of Warrenton, VA, Matthew Cook of Florence, SC, Jennifer Bediako of Newburgh, NY, Jeremy Vesley of Newburgh, NY, Gabi VanKurin of Florence, SC and Andy Remfrey of Sarasota, FL.
She was blessed with 6 great-grandchildren; Alex, Katy, Keyshan, Sarhya, Jayla and Zayden. Bernice was predeceased in death by her husband Curtis Remfrey, Sr., 3 children; Curtis Remfrey Jr., Claudia Cook, and Candice Cullingham and son-in-law Warren Tedder.
Memorial Services will be announced and held in the spring of 2016. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Bernice's memory to Cornwall United Methodist Church.
