Obituaries: Margaret Mary King Scalzo

Margaret Mary King Scalzo, born on November 21, 1963 passed away on September 9, 2015.
She leaves behind her husband, Steve Scalzo, with whom she shared 25 wonderful years, her son Bobby who brought her great joy, her daughter Erica and her husband, Nick Santiago, along with their children: Nicholas, CT, and Ariana, whom loved their “Mimi” dearly. Margaret was from a large and loving family and she loved to spend time with them. She will be greatly missed by her parents, Mary and Theodore King, and siblings Charlie and Kyoko King, Chris and Donna King, Paul King, Louise and David Carnright, Liz and George Ewanich, Ted King and his fiancée Darlene Veitenheimer, Damian and Jean King, Frances and her fiancé John Falvella, Eileen and Phil Kamrass; her extended Scalzo Family and countless loving Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Antoinette King.
Margaret loved words and language; she was fluent in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. She pursued her passion of language and culture by recently returning to college and earning a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Earning this degree was one of her proudest achievements. Anyone who knew Margaret knew she loved the Mets. Just last week she enjoyed a Mets game with her co-workers. She was very happy to see her team in a winning season. She worked at F.E.A.S.T. Caterers at Round Hill for 20 years.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY 12520; Fr. Rees Doughty will officiate. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Education Fund of her son, Robert Scalzo “Bobby” in care of the family.
