Richard H. Walters, of Highland Mills entered into eternal rest on August 25, 2015 at home. He was 78 years old.
The son of Homer W. Walters and Doris Ahrens Walters, Richard was born on July 14, 1937 in Buffalo, New York.
Richard was the owner of R.H. Walters & Son Printing in Orangeburg, New York. Richard honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1958. He was an active member of Black Rock Fish & Game Club - Mountainville, NY, Woodbury Field & Stream Club - Woodbury, NY, and also The Cornwall Yacht Club - Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY.
Richard is survived by his wife, Madeline Senna Walters at home. A son Roy Walters and his wife Ellen - Palmdale, CA, a daughter Nancy Engleman and husband Klaus - Park Ridge, NJ, a daughter Jill Zaharek and husband James - Cornwall, NY, a daughter Michele Scherer and her husband Timothy - Garnet Valley, PA. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Greenlaw - Fort Lee, NJ. His grandchildren: Corey, Leanna, Julia Walters, Annalise Engleman, Scott Matthew Scherer, Kristen Madeline Zaharek, Thomas Seaver Zaharek, Matthew James Scherer.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson NY.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery - Mountainville, NY Memorial contributions can be made to Parkinson's Foundation - National Parkinson Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 or Hospice of Orange and Sullivan, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
