William Moore of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on July 28, 2015 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital. He was 70 years old.
The son of Herbert and Margaret Moore, William Moore was born on October 1, 1944 in Lancaster, PA.
He honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force and worked for Verizon retiring after 20 years of service as an Account Manager.
He was an active member of the St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH)).
A family statement reads: "Bill was a lover of all things Irish, a beer connoisseur, and a fan of all music and sports. He loved coaching all three of his children in various sports. His greatest happiness was his family and spending time with them was his utmost joy. It is with a heavy heart we write that our beloved husband, father, grandfather and hero, fought the impossible fight for as long and as hard as he could. ALS could take his body, but it will never take his soul. He touched the lives of everyone he knew. He will be missed greatly by everybody that had the pleasure of knowing him.
"William Moore is survived by his wife, Patricia Moore; his children: Scott and his wife, Kaylena, and two sons: Aidan and Mason; Matt and his wife, Henny and daughter, Ella and son, Jax; Jennifer and her husband, Brandon and their son, Liam.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 31st at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 1st at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY 12520; Fr. Andrew Kurzyna will officiate. Burial with full Military Honors will follow the Mass at Orange County Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Craigville Rd, Goshen, NY 10924.
