Rose Marie Bender, of Newburgh NY entered into eternal rest on May 31, 2015 at home.
She was 91 years old.
The daughter of Cosimo Avato and Anna Conforti Avato, Rose Marie Bender was born on December 8, 1923 in Lyndhurst, NJ.
Rose Marie was a retired seamstress.A family statement reads: "she will be missed greatly by her family and friends and all will miss her famous Italian Cooking.
Rose Marie Bender is survived by her husband, George J. Bender at home; sons: Dennis Bender and his wife, Anna of Cornwall, NY and George Bender- Newburgh, NY; sister, Dolores Schuster of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren: Bryan and Serena Bender both of Cornwall. Rose was predeceased by brothers and sister : Tony Navarino, Gus Avato, Fritz Avato and Gloria Dobias, as well many nieces and nephews .
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St, Cornwall-On-Hudson NY.
Burial will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor NY.
