Gilbert F. Ferrero, of New Windsor entered into eternal rest on June 6, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was 71 years old.
The son of Mariannina and Enrico Ferrero, he was born on March 1, 1944 in New York City.
Gil was a 1962 graduate of Cornwall Central High School in Cornwall, New York. He worked for nearly 30 years for IBM in East Fishkill and another 15 years for the Newburgh City School District.
Gil was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed greatly.
Gil was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Barbara F. Ferrero, who died in February, 2015.
He is survived by sons: Michael Ferrero of New Windsor, Vincent Ferrero, his wife Donna; two granddaughters, Nicole Ferrero and Alison Ferrero of Fairport, NY, along with many other relatives.
While he especially enjoyed spending time with his family, Gil's other passions were spending countless hours working in his yard, following his favorite sports team, the New York Yankees, automobiles, and traveling.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 11 at St. Joseph's Church in New Windsor; Father Dennis Dinan will officiate. Burial will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Food For The Poor, 6401 Lyons Road, Coconut Creek, FL 33073, www.foodforthepoor.org.
