Lori R. Shaffer passed away on April 9, 2015 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence Newburgh, NY. She was 56 years old. She was born on July 30, 1958 to Henry and Jeanette Call Shaffer in Cornwall, NY.
Lori was a police officer for the Village of Cornwall for several years. She cared very deeply for the rights of women and children. She was very active and worked with Safe Homes of Orange County. She loved her family and animals very much. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Lori is survived by her son, Brian (Katie) of New Windsor; sisters: Darlene Shaffer of Cornwall, Terri Milliken (Barry) of Cornwall, Cindy Valicenti (Anthony) of Cornwall, and Tracy Shaffer-Faitak of Cornwall; her uncle, Henry Call; her aunts: Margaret Call and Harriet Worrell; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday April 11th at the Quigley Brothers Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520. Services will be held at 6 p.m. following visitation at the funeral home.
Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the ASPCA, Kaplan Family Hospice Residence or COVAC (Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corps).
