WWII Lecture Series @ the Library
CORNWALL, NY – The Cornwall Public Library will host a four-part WWII Lecture Series beginning on September 20th at 6:30 PM. The first in the series is “Escape from Behind Enemy Lines…Operation Bonaparte” and will be presented by Rick Feingold. Mr. Feingold is currently an Instructor of History at Bergen Community College concentrating on the Air Force in World War II. He is also a published travel writer for the Boston Herald and the Christian Science Monitor.
“Escape from Behind Enemy Lines…Operation Bonaparte” recounts the story of how Feingold’s father, Lt. Louis Feingold, a B-17 U.S. Army Air Corp navigator, escaped from Nazi capture. Lt. Feingold flew 20 bombing missions with the United States Air Corp during World War II and his plane was shot down over occupied France. His harrowing story is told using letters, maps, photos and original fake identity cards. This is a drop-in event, no registration is required.
