December 31, 2011
The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum presents the Brook Trout Exhibit at the Museum’s Wildlife Education Center, 25 Boulevard, Cornwall-on-Hudson.
Brook trout are New York State’s freshwater fish. “Brookies” require cold, clean, well oxygenated water to survive. A highly sensitive fish, brook trout are sometimes referred to as an “indicator” species, their disappearance from our waters can alert us to changes in water system.
Learn more about the brookies every Saturday and Sunday at Meet the Animals at 2:30 p.m. with live fish presentations.
Cost: $3, Members are free. Special thanks for the new exhibit to: Hudson River improvement Fund, Black Rock Forest and an anonymous donor. For more information visit www.hhnaturemuseum.org or call 845-534-5506, ext. 204.
