Cornwall held it's annual Easter egg hunt in town with electronics being a more popular prize to the children vs. a bike! I thought my own children were losing interest in the hunt when I told them they might win a new bike and they had a less than enthusiastic reaction. When I was a child, there was a bit more excitement at the prospect of winning such a prize. As they walked up to wait with their age group for the hunt, an announcement was made that a tablet was one of the prizes. That peaked their interest and they ran with excitement searching for the egg. Some children did not realize that you only need one egg for a prize so there were many children without eggs. Justin Minasi gave away an extra egg which he found. After the prizes were given out several wiffle ball games broke out on the Town Hall front lawn.
Storm King Fire Engine Co. #2 held it's annual fundraising pancake breakfast Easter morning. The breakfast draws quite a crowd and for my family, has become our tradition. My father, Ray Kenney, who passed away in 2001, used to enjoy cooking in the Storm King kitchen and flipping pancakes. This year the breakfast was so packed, the crowd needed to use an extra room.
