Moments before the start of the 4th of July parade, these geese started marching across Hudson Street in the village of Cornwall-on-Hudson. A police officer moved them along quickly and they made their way passed the spectators toward River Avenue and, you guessed it, the Hudson River. Simon Gruber saw the spectacle and took these photos.

A friend later asked, "while they are Canada Geese, perhaps they should be carrying American flags?" To which Gruber replied, "I don’t want to presume to be telling the geese what to do – it is a free country!"
