Tom Doyle took this photo at the end of February when he was walking on a trail on Storm King Mountain. He says the day was warm and there was a lot of runnoff from the melting ice and snow. "I stopped at a cliff face, did some minor climbing to get to this spot and shot a series of backlit shots shielding the lens with my left hand to prevent flare," he writes, adding that this is one of the shots that didn't include his hand in the frame.
