The U.S. Coast Guard and tug boats were busy assisting ships that were unable to pass through the ice in the Hudson River earlier this week. 

Karen Schaack has a fantastic view of the river and she took these photos as ship after ship got stuck in the ice, beginning on Saturday, January 22.
